Book Review: “Made to Move Mountains: How God Uses Our Dreams And Disasters to Accomplish the Impossible” by Kristen Welch

I can’t think of a better time for a book like this to release than, right here, right now, as we are all dealing with the effects of the coronavirus. Some of us are dealing with being homebound for the first time, others are experiencing job loss and financial difficulty, others are battling anxiety and worry over a loved one potentially contracting the virus, or maybe they have already lost someone to the virus. Whatever the case may be, life is feeling extra hard right about now, and there are mountains which seem to be rising up every harder before our eyes on a daily basis.

This is one of the reasons I am so grateful for Kristen Welch’s brand new book, “Made to Move Mountains: How God Uses Our Dreams And Disasters to Accomplish the Impossible”.

This book is part-memoir, part-Bible study journey. Kristen shares the ups and downs of her family’s founding the ministry of Mercy House Global, her child’s health concerns, financial difficulties, and so much more in this candid retelling of the mountains that have loomed large in Kristen’s life. At the same time, she also walks us through Scripture to teach us not only the character of God, but also show how He has worked in the past to move mountains in His people’s lives time and time again.

By the time you get to the last page of this book, you will feel so fired up and encouraged, so inspired and motivated to trust in the Lord, walk by faith, and believe that no mountain that could ever arise in your life could prove to large for our Mighty God. We will either move those mountains or change you as you move through them. This book will lift your spirits, be a balm to your soul, and encourage your heart. I highly recommend it!
