Book Review: “The CSB (in)courage Devotional Bible” + Giveaway!

I was recently offered a copy of the brand new CSB Devotional Bible from (in)courage in exchange for my honest review.

First of all, if you read my review a few months back on the new CSB Study Bible for women, then you already know that I like the Christian Standard Bible, the version of the text upon which both of these Bibles is based. It’s a very readable, true-to-the-text translation. So, that’s the first great feature of this Bible!

Another of my favorite features of this Bible is that it does provide extensive journaling space, whereas the women’s study Bible did not. I am a major notes-taker anytime I am reading anything, so I do require a lot of lined journaling space in order for me to make the most of my time in the Word. This Bible provides that beautifully.

What makes this Bible so valuable, however, besides the winsomely beautiful, feminine design, the soft linen cover, and all the wonderful space for journaling, is the multitude of devotionals contained within the pages of this Bible which written by so many women in ministry whom we all know and love. One of these women, Wynter Pitts, passed away just a few months back, making this Bible even more of a treasure.

While I did appreciate the study tools in the CSB women’s study Bible, I think I’d have to say this Bible, for me, takes the cake and is my favorite of the two.

The website for the Bible shares this description,

The CSB (in)courage Devotional Bible invites every woman to find her story within the greatest story ever told—God’s story of redemption.

As you study God’s Word, 122 women from the (in)courage community come alongside you with 312 devotions, sharing stories of how God’s story has changed their lives. Because of His grace, they have found beauty in the brokenness and hope in the hard. With each devotion, they sing the praise of the One who has authored their story.

  1. Love this Bible but a lot of the print is too small or isn’t bold enough. Does it even come in a larger print?

    1. I know what you mean! Unfortunately, I just did a search on Amazon and haven’t been able to find it in large print. It appears that they have just the one version. Maybe they’ll come out with a large print version in the future, because there are other study Bibles out there that have that option!

Wish I could be of more help to you!

      1. Would love to get one of these Bibles for my wife. She going through chemotherapy for CLL and I think this would encourage her. God bless you all, Pastor Barry Goodman
