Resource Review: The Weekly Habits Project: A Challenge to Journal, Reflect, and Make Tiny Changes for Big Results (The Weekly Project Series) from Zondervan

For the past several months, the Lord has had me on a journey with Him as I am learning more and more the importance of putting into place daily and weekly habits which bring me closer to living the kind of life I feel called by God to live. I am learning that without that intention, I will live flying by the seat of my pants which is truly no kind of way to live at all if I am interested in “numbering my days” (Psalm 90:12) and “redeeming the time well” (Ephesians 5:15-17) as I have been called to do.

I have also been discovering the power of the practice of journaling, so combine those two journeys together, and you can imagine my excitement when given the opportunity to review the brand new  resource, The Weekly Habits Project: A Challenge to Journal, Reflect, and Make Tiny Changes for Big Results.

Here is this guided journal’s official description:

Celebrate progress over perfection with this beautiful year-long guided journal to build life-giving habits, set achievable goals, and enjoy spiritual growth with each grace-filled step forward.

Over the next 52 weeks, you’ll build the spiritual, mental, and emotional habits you’ve been longing to cultivate. Reflection prompts and calming imagery provide a compassionate place for you to set and celebrate goals related to time, prayer, technology, fears, discouragement, and relationships.

Each entry in The Weekly Habits Project includes:

  • A practical theme to focus on for godly growth
  • A short but powerful Bible verse for reflection and meditation
  • Inspiration to guide your thoughts and jumpstart your habit project
  • Journaling prompts and room to chronicle your journey toward real, lasting change

This guided journal:

  • Showcases colorful photography and gentle watercolors
  • Has a beautiful ribbon marker so you never lose your place
  • Provides ample room for journaling
  • Fits on a nightstand, in a tote bag, or inside a gift basket
  • Is perfect for New Year’s goal setting or starting new habits any time of year
  • Makes a great gift for you or a friend in a new season of life or for anyone who enjoys the Weekly Project series.

We all want to live meaningful lives, reach important goals, and fulfill new year’s resolutions, but we often fail to do so because we do not first set ourselves up for success through the necessary planning that is required. As the old adage goes, “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.”

With this guided journal, at last you will have the space and opportunity to enjoy a Spirit-led approach to forming and fashioning a truly life-giving, God-honoring way of living in the day to day.  I could not enjoy this journal nor recommend it more highly than I do. I truly believe it to be a game-changer.
